The Night Watch, Birch With Cherry Frame, $300, Free Shipping
This is a beautiful piece of burned artwork, on very stable baltic birch plywood. I wanted to try challenging myself with some interesting textures, and I’ve always been fascinated by owls, so a wood burning of a Screech Owl was the perfect choice. This is my first wood burned owl, and I’m very happy with how it came out.
The artwork is on an 8″ X 10″ X .25″ piece of quality baltic birch plywood. This is a very stable and durable support. It has been varnished with three coats of satin finish water based urethane.
The Frame is genuine Cherry Hardwood, and measures 11.75″ wide by 13.5″ tall and 1″ thick. This is a hand made frame made by my colleague Jack Wheeler, a very talented woodworker. His frames feature distinctive tenon style joinery, instead of the regular mitered joints of common frames. He is retired now, and I only have a few of his frames left; once they’re gone, they’re gone. The frame has a nice traditional style route along the outside edge, and has three coats of gloss finish oil based polyurethane. Heavy duty hanging wire has been attached to the back of the frame for easy wall hanging.
I am offering this to you for $300, shipping included, a very reasonable price for such a lovely, one of a kind, works of art. This is a high quality, heirloom grade piece of fine art. Properly cared for, this will last generations. Your great, great grandchildren will by fighting over this someday!
