Catmosphere, woodburning art on Birch, $200, © 2019 by Jay Trefethen

Catmosphere, $200

This was a fun piece to do. I wanted to try a montage of images based on by thoughts on the cycles of life contrasted with the cycles of planets. I’ve done this sort of montage style before, but this was my first attempt at it pyrography. I think I ended up with an interesting and thought provoking design. This kind of symbolism is fun, because I know exactly what everything means, but I don’t want to over explain it. So I let the viewer decide for himself or herself what it means to them.

The Details

This was burned onto a birch panel measuring 8.75″ wide by 11.75″ tall by .75″ thick. It has two coats of matte finish polyurethane for a nice protective and attractive finish. A “D” style hook is screwed to the back for easy wall hanging. This piece is a one of a kind original work of heirloom quality artwork. I’m asking $200 for it, which I think is a very fair price for this piece. The price includes Priority Mail shipping. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at
